PSAT/NMSQT Testing Information The PSAT/NMSQT will be given at MHHS this year on Wednesday, October 14, 2020. The test is available for any sophomore or junior to take for a fee to determine if they are eligible to be a National Merit Scholar. The cost of the test is $17.00/student (fee waiver for those that qualify). Students must register in the MHHS front office by August 21, 2020 and must pay when registering for the exam. The PSAT/NMSQT tests what you have learned in high school and will provide information on what you need to succeed in college. Students who take challenging courses, do their homework, prepare for tests and quizzes, ask and answer a lot of questions, and actively participate in class are the students who are prepared to take the PSAT/NMSQT. Sophomore students who take the PSAT/NMSQT will gain insight on whether they should also take the test their junior year to be eligible as a National Merit Scholar. National Merit Scholars become eligible for scholarships from various sources. The PSAT/NMSQT includes a Reading test, Writing and Language Test, and a Math Test. The testing session is approximately 4 hours and will be given during the school day on October 14, 2020 at MHHS. For additional information regarding the PSAT/NMSQT please visit the College Board website: www.collegeboard.org If testing accommodations are needed for the PSAT/NMSQT the deadline for those to be submitted is August 25, 2020. If your student needs accommodations, he/she will need to sign up no later than August 21, 2020 in order to take the exam with accommodations. The school will then submit the request for accommodations to the College Board for approval. If you have any other questions please call 425-1215 to speak with Mrs. Russell.
