Mrs. Dana Brown

Welcome to Mountain Home High School Career Academies - Home of the Bombers! At MHHS, we take pride in the education that is provided to our area students as well as the variety of athletic and extra-curricular activities provided. The administration and faculty are continuously seeking more innovative and effective ways to improve our offerings for the students and the community. At the beginning of the 2003-2004 school year MHHS implemented career academies, ACME (Architecture, Construction, Manufacturing, and Engineering), CAB (Communication, Arts, and Business), and HHS (Health and Human Services) for all students. The career academy concept has brought many exciting new opportunities for our high school students/faculty along with allowing us to share our innovations with school districts across the nation.

Mountain Home High School has received the Ford Fund distinction as one of the top five career academies in the nation. In addition to academies, we also have a strong advanced placement program, concurrent credit program with Arkansas State University at Mountain Home, and a supportive special education program. The Department of Education in Arkansas has named Mountain Home High School as one of its public schools that offer a rich curriculum.

MHHS has a strong community/business link at MHHS with senior internships that involve the Mountain Home community and surrounding area and provide our students with valuable insights into potential careers. In addition to our internship programs, we also have a career academy mentor program that has proven to be invaluable to students as well as our community partners. All our Academic Advisory Groups have community members that give of their time and effort to make a difference in the lives of the students that they mentor. Also, the community provides guidance and support for a variety of clubs and activities at the school. For example, Baxter Healthcare has provided MHHS with engineers who have given their time and expertise to the award winning FIRST program. They help us make the learning relevant to the future of our students, and in turn, we work to graduate students who will fit the needs of our area. Students at Mountain Home High School have many academic and extra curricular activities to choose from.

Along with strong community ties, MHHS has many other accomplishments we are proud to recognize. Mountain Home High School students consistently score above the national average on ACT scores, and we have had many students who have accomplished National Merit Finalist status. Also, all three of our academies (ACME, HHS and CAB Academies) have received model status with the National Career Academy Coalition. It is my hope that you will find our website helpful in becoming acquainted with our school and that you will find all the information that you are seeking. Go Bombers!
